(TL;DR) If you were building your sim gear from scratch for iRacing, what would you spend your money on?Hello,I grew up loving sprint cars and spent more time than I'd care to admit just playing Ratbag's Sprint Car game against the computer. The amount of laps I did on that thing with no setup and nobody to play against was just incredible when I look back on it. I've since become fast on console games (only using a controller)Now that sprint cars are here on iRacing and they are looking to add my home track (Knoxville) I'm more than pumped to get this started.I currently do not have anything to get this started but have certainly done my research. I have the money set aside to take the plunge. What I'm looking for is this:A computer (I spec'd this one out http://ift.tt/1t4vFDL . It seems like overkill ($1300). When I look at the price of other things, maybe I would be better off saving money in this area. I want to do other things like video editing/streaming, but not sure how consuming that is)Wheel/Pedal/ShifterA place to buy a used car seat (I think that's the best/most economical route). Or a rig if you can recommend the right one. Also will be going VR instead of a monitor setup. It looks incredible from the videos I've watched. So far here is what I've come up with:Computer ~1300 Wheel/Pedal/Shifter ~1300 (Clubsport V2.5 Combo) VR ~500-600So that puts me around the number I'm willing to spend. Then I'd have to come up with a way to build a rig. However, I don't want to be a chump and pay too much. If I'm going to be doing mostly iRacing in VR, how should my money be spent?Sorry for the long-winded question. You don't have to take my exact situation into account. It's more of a question of "What would you use $3000 on if you were starting from scratch?"Thank you! via /r/simracing http://ift.tt/2sukxmA
