Riryoku on Golden Apples Token makes its ATK 0?

Idk if im reading the effects wrong or something but I had a 2200ATK GoldenApplesToken, my opponent used Riryoku halving the Token's attack and giving it to his NeoTheMagicSwordsman. I then used ECon to stop his monster's attack. But after the turn, my GoldenApplesToken had 0ATK/2200DEF. Its ATK stayed at 0 for the rest of the game. What happened?
